View from the window at Le Gras (1826) – the first photograph ever taken. Nicéphore Niépce called this technique “heliography”, it required 8 hours of exposition.

The first motion picture – Horse in Motion (1878) by Eadweard Muybridge, the “movie” was created using a set of 12 stereoscopic cameras.
The first celluloid films were a 2 second shots recorded by Louis Aimé Augustin Le Prince 7 years before the first movies by Lumière brothers. Le Prince was probably the true “father of motion pictures”, but he disappeared in mysterious circumstances before he could popularize his invention.
